For the majority of people, setting goals help them forge forward to a specific achievement or end goal. Some goals provide motivation and get you into a flow of creativity and innovation. These goals are compelling and there is a gravitational pull drawing us to it. The ability to pull from a source of abundance rather than scarcity. Goals of inspiration are not focused on a means to get something better, but to bring more joy in life and living.
Goals of desperation are rooted in stress, scarcity, and a sense of urgency. They are heavy, burdening, and it can cause us to overcommit and leaves room for self-doubt and being overwhelmed. These goals are created externally and when fulfilled you get a small sense of validation before moving onto the next daunting goal. The vicious cycle continues to complete the task that you HAVE to do, not what you WANT to do. Goals of desperation are a means to end, meaning if you create goal X then you can get Y. These goals may feel like goals of inspiration at first until you realize the anxiety, fear, doubt, and lack of motivation.

How do we create goals of inspiration?
As you get older you tend to block the flow of inspiration you had as a kid because of fear of judgement, criticism, fear, or doubt. If you allow your thoughts to open a river of inspiration those goals will come. You can always ask yourself, if I had all the money in the world, had no anxiety or fear, and didn't need any recognition from others, what would I do? That should be your guiding light to find your goal of inspiration.
